This house is now the STAMM house....
(I LOVE saying that!)
Changes are being made.
(I love that, too!)
It was very important to me that, once they became the owners, the house be REALLY theirs:
Change it......
Paint it PURPLE if you want to.....
It has been so much FUN seeing them interpret this old house in an entirely new way:
They now have a HUGE master bedroom. They knocked out a wall and combined two spaces....they put up beams, they paneled the walls. ...They can look out the front windows and the back windows and see the river and the moon and the boys playing in the back yard.....

Four years lataer
l find myself unable to go back into my Musings of Nonny blog....to add to it. So I have to proceed this way. Hope the pretty green graphics/background comes through on this new one...that matters to me!
Four years....a lot can happen in four years; a lot has! My whole life has changed, and it is good.
Sitting here in a new living space. My home now belongs to Jenny...and Billy...and three little boys. I found myself slipping into a situation I couldn't handle on my own: My 45 year old home needed some TLC....it was getting pretty shabby.
I couldn't fix the side porch that threatens to die any year...nor could I put a new roof on, clean gutters, even mow the lawn. Windows needed help, etc., etc., etc......
What to do? Hold on to it, try to fix things myself, let it go downhill more? (I'M not getting on that roof!!!) Spend my last years struggling until the home we have loved becomes a weight on my heart instead of a blessing?
All these years, all these memories....along comes Jenny. She and Billy want it. They can buy it...and buy it they DID!!
So, here I sit in my own cozy space...It is three in the morning, and I can do whatever I want and not disturb anyone....I have my coffee maker, my old fridge in the next room, my own bath, a side entrance, a fireplace, doors I can lock if I want to ....doesn't get any better than this....did I mention I'm still in my home?
And there's my little "Abbie"...she bounces from couch to couch, between my lap and anyone who ventures into her domain...she whines outside my bathroom till I come out and greets me as if I've been gone for a day...she sleeps with me, hogs the bed, keeps me warm in winter, hot in summer...I sure love my Abbie!!
Oh, dear!!!!!
My Abbie!!
I had posted one morning that I would never be lonely with Abbie by my side....I was feeling thankful....grateful for that sweet puppy who loved me unconditionally....
Four hours later...I was headed out the driveway...
Abbie and Izzie were chasing the car.
I didn't stop....we never did...that would encourage the behavior.
I ran over my Abbie!!!!
Not a mark on her. Not a cry from her.
....but I did.
